Atwater PlaceBuilding Information | Homes for Sale | South Waterfront Buildings
Atwater Place is The South Waterfront's third condominium project. Created by Portland architect Thomas Hacker, this meticulously designed condominium building will feature beautifully appointed homes ranging from 760 to 3,750 square feet. Nearly all of the homes in the tower will offer views of the Willamette River, and many will have views of Mt Hood, downtown Portland and the west hills.
On 38 acres of Portland's riverfront property, The River Blocks at South Waterfront represents the next phase in Portland's evolution as one of the most livable cities in the nation, seamlessly blending city life with access to nature. Developed in part by the team that helped create Portland's most popular and fastest-growing urban neighborhoods, the Pearl District and Brewery Blocks, The River Blocks will offer the best that Portland has to offer: convenient access to transportation, Portland's best restaurants, theaters, museums and shopping, as well as the relaxation and recreation opportunities of the Willamette River. A public/private partnership between the developers, the City of Portland, the Portland Development Commission and Oregon Health & Science University, The River Blocks is slated to be complete by 2010 and have a $1.9 billion value at full build out.
Each one of the condominium towers will have retail space on the ground level. Businesses in the district are anticipated to include shops, restaurants and household and financial services. The first retailers, including a restaurant, optical shop, and pharmacy are scheduled to open late 2006. In the fall of 2006 the Portland Streetcar will connect the district to downtown, The Pearl District and Northwest 23rd shopping district. The Portland Streetcar will also connect to MAX the high speed train connecting Portland to the outer suburbs and Portland International Airport (PDX). Construction began in November of 2005. The completion date is slated for late 2008.
